All - I am planning to setup Oracle RAC at home laptop. I managed to download Oracle VirtualBox. As well I downloaded the OS image for Ubuntu. However, I am having a difficult time in trying to configure the IP so that I can transfer the files from the Local OS to the virtual machine.
I am successful in bringing up the OS. But nothing after that. Can you someone guide me to setup the RAC at home?
Regards,
Antony

I never use any pre-configured OS image. You need to create your own virtual boxes and install the OS yourself. That is the only way to be sure that the NICs, DNS server, DHCP server, shared storage, and everything else are set up correctly. Furthermore, you should use OEL, not Ubuntu, because it comes ready configured. You'll waste days getting anything else configured appropriately for running RAC.
